I have done over 500 scuba dives with sharks in my life from Great Whites, Tiger Sharks and Bull Sharks and not one time have I had a shark bother me until now! I was diving the outside reef at Tunnels and was taking video of two large white tipped reef sharks. I know these sharks well and have seen them many times during my dives, even at night. I usually just ignore them and they ignore me. On this dive it was different. They were obviously agitated. Their fins were pointed down which means they may attack. They had jerky movements and they were running into the reef and into me! I finally got spooked and went back in. As I came back to shore I met a fiend who pointed out to me the large Navy ship just outside of Tunnels doing its yearly sonar testing! I could hear weird noises underwater but ignored them. Whales and dolphins are know to go nuts during these test and I now believe it also effects the sharks! A week later the sharks were back to normal and I dove with them in the caves just two days ago. It worries me that the Navy testing may cause sharks to become aggressive!
